The inaugural congress of the Mediterranean Observatory on Climate Change (MOCC), held in Tunis on Decembre 2 and 3, 2024, marked the launch of an international cooperation platform to address the climate challenges facing the Mediterranean region. The event brought together experts, researchers, institutional representatives, and civil society members from various countries, creating an enriching space for knowledge exchange and the establishment of common priorities.
Organized by the University of Barcelona (UB), UB Solidarity Foundation (FSUB), University of Carthage (UCAR), the Catalan Association for Peace (ACP), and the Palestinian Farmers Union (PFU), with the support of the Barcelona City Council, the congress featured keynote presentations, participatory workshops, and constructive debates. The main objective was to lay the foundation for the OMCC as a key tool in monitoring and adapting to climate change while promoting innovation and citizen engagement.
